Big news for St. Louis Cardinals fans! Despite a slightly off-season, third baseman Nolan Arenado is still making waves in the baseball world. He was recently announced as a finalist for the prestigious Silver Slugger Award in the National League, alongside big names like Manny Machado, Max Muncy, and Austin Riley. With 26 home runs and 93 RBIs under his belt, Arenado’s performance this season may not have been his best, but it’s still impressive. And while he may not be the front-runner for the award, he did rank fourth among NL third basemen in home runs and third in RBIs. This isn’t the first time Arenado has been recognized for his hitting skills – he’s a five-time Silver Slugger Award winner, including his 2022 season with the Cardinals. Surprisingly, he was the only Silver Slugger finalist for St. Louis this year, despite catcher Willson Contreras ranking high in wRC+ among primary NL catchers.
Stay tuned to see if Arenado takes home the award – we’ll be rooting for him!
