Get ready to be amazed by the lightning-fast skills of Cardinals outfield prospect Victor Scott II! This rising star has already shown off his speed on the base paths not once, but twice in an exhibition game featuring some of the best young players in baseball. During the All-Star Futures Game in July, Scott stole second base right after hitting a single in his first at-bat. And if that wasn’t impressive enough, he also swiped third base later in the same inning, finishing the game with a total of two stolen bases at T-Mobile Park in Seattle.
But that’s not all – Scott’s speed and agility were on full display once again during the Arizona Fall League’s annual Fall Stars game. As the starting center fielder and leadoff hitter for the National League Fall Star team, he went one-for-one with a double, two walks, and an incredible three stolen bases. With a track record like that, it’s no surprise that Scott’s performance on Sunday was nothing short of spectacular. Keep an eye on this rising star – he’s sure to continue wowing audiences with his impressive skills on the field. Get ready to be amazed by the lightning-fast skills of Cardinals outfield prospect Victor Scott II! This rising star has already shown off his speed on the base paths not once, but twice before in an exhibition game featuring some of baseball’s top prospects.
During the All-Star Futures Game this past July, Scott made a statement by stealing second base right after hitting a single in his first at-bat. And just to prove he’s not a one-trick pony, he also swiped third base later that inning, finishing the showcase with an impressive two-stolen base effort at T-Mobile Park in Seattle.
So it’s no surprise that Scott’s performance in the Arizona Fall League’s annual Fall Stars game on Sunday was nothing short of spectacular. As the starting center fielder and leadoff hitter for the National League Fall Star team, Scott went one-for-one with a double, two walks, and three stolen bases. Talk about a triple threat!
The 22-year-old speedster wasted no time making an impact, lining a double to left field in the top of the first inning and stealing third base in the same inning. He continued to show off his lightning-fast skills in the third inning, stealing his second base of the game (another steal of third) after walking with one out. And just when you thought he couldn’t get any faster, Scott collected his third stolen base in the fifth after drawing a two-out walk.
With a total of 16 stolen bases, a .272 average, and two doubles in 22 games during the fall league, Scott is proving to be a force to be reckoned with. In fact, he’s currently tied for second place in stolen bases in the AFL, just one bag behind the leader, Yankees prospect and Washington University-St. Louis product Caleb Durbin.
But Scott wasn’t the only Cardinals prospect to shine in the Fall Stars game. Pitcher Tekoah Roby also made his mark, throwing a scoreless inning and striking out two batters on just nine pitches. And in relief, former first-round draft pick Cooper Hjerpe struck out one batter in 2/3 of an inning, needing just eight pitches to retire the two batters he faced.
Don’t miss out on the excitement of these rising stars! Tune in now to see what Scott and his fellow Cardinals prospects have in store for the future.
