Former Blues Defenseman Signs One-Year Contract with Utah Hockey Club
The Utah Hockey Club has made a major addition to their roster, signing former St. Louis Blues defenseman and 12-year NHL veteran, John Smith, to a one-year contract.
Smith brings a wealth of experience and skill to the team, having played over 800 games in the NHL and earning a reputation as a strong and reliable defenseman. His leadership and on-ice presence will be a valuable asset to the Utah Hockey Club as they strive for success in the upcoming season.
“We are thrilled to have John join our team,” said head coach, Mark Johnson. “His experience and talent will be a huge asset to our defense and overall team dynamic. We can’t wait to see him in action on the ice.”
Smith, who was drafted by the Blues in 2008, spent the majority of his career with the team before being traded to the New York Rangers in 2019. He has also represented his country, playing for Team USA in the 2014 Winter Olympics.
The Utah Hockey Club is excited to have Smith on board and is confident that his addition will help elevate the team to new heights. Fans can look forward to seeing him in action when the season kicks off in October.
