Is It Time for the Cardinals to Give Up on This Season’s Roster?

Amidst a lackluster season, there are whispers that the Cardinals may be ready to throw in the towel on their current roster.

Rumors are swirling that the team’s management is considering making some major changes in order to salvage what’s left of the season.

With a string of disappointing losses and a struggling lineup, it’s no surprise that fans and analysts alike are questioning the team’s future.

But could this really be the end for the Cardinals’ current roster?

As the season progresses, it’s becoming increasingly clear that something needs to change in order for the team to have a shot at success.

Despite their best efforts, the current lineup just isn’t cutting it.

And with the trade deadline looming, the Cardinals may have to make some tough decisions in order to turn things around.

Will they stick with their current roster and hope for a miracle? Or will they make some bold moves in an attempt to salvage the season?

Only time will tell, but one thing is for sure: the Cardinals are at a crossroads and the fate of this season’s roster hangs in the balance.

Cards’ Writer Calls for Garrett Hampson to Be Dropped from Roster by End of Month

The St. Louis Cardinals are facing a tough decision as their playoff hopes dwindle. According to Redbird Rants writer Thomas Gauvain, it may be time for the team to reevaluate their roster and look towards the future. In particular, Gauvain believes that utility player Garrett Hampson should be removed from the team.

In his article, Gauvain points out that Hampson has only had 22 plate appearances with the Cardinals and has struggled at the plate with a .143 batting average. He also notes that Hampson’s defensive abilities do not make up for his lack of offensive production. As a result, Gauvain suggests that the Cardinals could promote outfielder Nathan Church, who has been performing well in the minor leagues with a .332 batting average and a strong arm.

Hampson, who spent the first five seasons of his career with the Colorado Rockies, has bounced around between teams in recent years. He was signed by the Arizona Diamondbacks this season but was designated for assignment and eventually ended up with the Cardinals in June. However, Gauvain believes that Hampson’s time with the team should come to an end by the end of August.

With a slim 9.5% chance of making the playoffs, the Cardinals may soon shift their focus to developing their younger players. Gauvain’s call for Hampson to be dropped from the roster may be a sign of this impending change. As the season winds down, it will be interesting to see if the Cardinals take Gauvain’s advice and make room for their up-and-coming talent.
