The Cardinals Fall Short Against the Yankees Despite Late Rally

In a disappointing start for the Cardinals, Andre Pallante struggled once again on Friday night. The young pitcher gave up three runs in the first inning and another in the third, ultimately leading to a win for the New York Yankees in the first game of their three-game series at Busch Stadium.

Despite a valiant effort from the Cardinals, who managed to pull within one run in the sixth inning and two in the seventh, they were unable to overcome the early deficit and lost their second consecutive game.

This loss adds to the Cardinals’ struggles with Pallante on the mound, as they have only won one of his last nine starts. In those nine games, Pallante has allowed a total of 31 earned runs in just 46 1/3 innings, resulting in an alarming ERA of 6.02.

It’s clear that the Cardinals will need to address their issues with Pallante if they hope to turn their season around and secure more wins in the future.
