Non-profit agencies and developers can now apply for funding for affordable housing projects through the Affordable Housing Commission.
Three Types of Funding Available
Non-profit agencies and developers have the opportunity to apply for three different types of funding for their affordable housing projects. Each type of funding has its own separate application form, which will be available starting September 8 at 8am.
Service-Related Grants
One type of funding available is service-related grants, which can be applied for through the Grant Application form.
Loans and Subsidies for Rental Housing Production
Another type of funding is loans and other subsidies for rental housing production, which can be applied for through the Rental Housing Production Application form.
Loans and Subsidies for For-Sale Housing Developments
The third type of funding is loans and other subsidies for for-sale housing developments, which can be applied for through the For-Sale Housing Production Application form.
Universal Design Requirements
All new construction housing that is assisted by the Affordable Housing Commission must comply with basic minimum Universal Design concepts and techniques.
Helpful Presentations Available
The Affordable Housing Commission will also be offering presentations titled “How To Apply for Funding” to assist new and inexperienced applicants in understanding the application process. These presentations will also be helpful for previous applicants who have not been successful in receiving funding, as they will provide insight into what makes a strong project proposal and what documentation is required.
Fall 2025 NOFA Available
The Fall 2025 NOFA (Notice of Funding Availability) will be available on the AHC website starting September 8. This will provide all the necessary information and documents for applicants to apply for funding.

Seniors and persons with disabilities can apply for the Missouri Property Tax Credit Claim (also known as Circuit Breaker) through this service. This program provides eligible individuals with money back for a portion of their paid real estate tax or rent.
