JJ Bleday Goes Yard Twice as Athletics Defeat Cardinals 11-3

In a dominant performance, JJ Bleday led the Oakland Athletics to an 11-3 victory over the St. Louis Cardinals on Monday. Bleday’s two home runs and Zack Gelof’s three hits helped the Athletics break their three-game losing streak.

The game started off strong for the Athletics, with Luis Morales (3-0) on the mound. Morales allowed just two runs on five hits and struck out a career-high eight batters in 5 2/3 innings. This was a remarkable feat for Morales, who had never given up multiple runs in his six appearances in the major leagues.

Bleday, who has been on a hot streak this season, continued to impress with his 12th home run of the year in the sixth inning. This extended the Athletics’ lead to 5-1 and solidified their hold on the game.

The Cardinals tried to mount a comeback, but the Athletics’ offense was too much to handle. Gelof’s home run and three hits, along with contributions from other players, helped the Athletics secure their victory.

The win was a much-needed one for the Athletics, who had been struggling in their previous games. With this win, they improve their record to 11-7 and maintain their position as one of the top teams in the league.

The Athletics will look to continue their winning ways as they face off against the Cardinals again on Tuesday. With Bleday and Gelof leading the charge, the Athletics are sure to put up a strong fight and maintain their dominance on the field.
