Is Cleveland Guardians’ Steven Kwan Heading for a Winter Move?

Rumors are swirling that Cleveland Guardians’ outfielder Steven Kwan could be packing his bags this winter. The young player, known for his impressive speed and defensive skills, has caught the attention of several teams in the MLB.

Kwan, who made his debut with the Guardians in 2020, has shown great potential and has quickly become a fan favorite. However, with the team looking to make some changes this off-season, it seems that Kwan’s name has come up in trade talks.

According to sources close to the team, the Guardians are looking to strengthen their pitching rotation and are willing to part ways with Kwan in order to do so. This news has left many fans disappointed, as they were hoping to see Kwan continue to develop and contribute to the team’s success.

But for Kwan, a trade could mean a new opportunity to showcase his talents and potentially become a key player for another team. The 24-year-old has already proven himself as a valuable asset on the field and it’s no surprise that other teams are interested in acquiring him.

As the off-season progresses, it remains to be seen if Kwan will indeed be on the move. But one thing is for sure,

Could the Cardinals Strike a Deal for Guardians’ Gold Glove Outfielder?

The Cleveland Guardians’ decision to field offers for outfielder Steven Kwan has caught the attention of the league as the trade deadline approaches. Despite being in the running for a playoff spot, the Guardians were willing to part ways with Kwan, along with other key players like Shane Bieber and Emmanuel Clase.

But with no deal made, Kwan remains in Cleveland for now. However, that could change this offseason as the Guardians may still be looking to move him. In fact, Bleacher Report’s Kerry Miller has listed Kwan as one of the MLB stars likely to be traded in the coming months.

“Kwan is a three-time reigning Gold Glove recipient who is probably headed for a fourth such honor,” Miller writes. “And though he has yet to come all that close to winning a batting title, he goes through these stretches every year in which he reels off multiple-hit games seemingly four times a week for well over a month.”

With his consistent performance and impressive defensive skills, Kwan would be a valuable addition to any team. And according to St. Louis Cardinals on SI’s Zach Pressnell, the Cardinals could be a perfect fit for the outfielder.

“Scott and Kwan are very similar players, though Scott grades out as a slightly better defender,” Pressnell notes. “Even then, Kwan seems headed for his fourth Gold Glove in as many seasons. Kwan is a consistent .740-plus OPS hitter with the ability to hit over .300 in any given season.”

With the Cardinals currently facing uncertainty in their outfield, Pressnell believes that a trade for Kwan would solidify their lineup for years to come.

“Swinging a big offseason trade for the Guardians star would shore up one of the three outfield spots for the foreseeable future,” he writes.

In 119 games this season, Kwan has maintained a .278/.338/.392 slash line with 10 home runs, 40 RBIs, 63 runs scored, and 14 stolen bases. With his impressive stats and potential for even more growth, Kwan could be a valuable trade target for the Cardinals.
