The St. Louis Cardinals Struggle to Trade Nolan Arenado Despite Regressing Performance

According to sources, the St. Louis Cardinals have been actively trying to trade their veteran infielder, Nolan Arenado, for several months now. However, the task has proven to be quite challenging due to his hefty contract and no-trade clause.

Despite high hopes for Arenado’s performance, it seems that he has regressed much more than anyone could have predicted. In fact, Thomas Gauvain of Redbird Rants recently shared his belief that the Cardinals would once again attempt to trade Arenado during the upcoming offseason.

It’s no secret that the Cardinals have been struggling this season, and Arenado’s underwhelming performance has only added to their woes. With a record of 53-53, the team is currently sitting at third place in the National League Central division.

Many had hoped that Arenado’s addition to the team would bring about a positive change, but unfortunately, that has not been the case. Despite his impressive track record with the Colorado Rockies, the star infielder has not been able to replicate that success with the Cardinals.

As the trade deadline approaches, it remains to be seen if the Cardinals will be able to find a suitable deal for Arenado. With his contract and no-trade clause posing as major obstacles, it may be a difficult task. However, the team is determined to make necessary changes and improve their performance, and trading Arenado may be a step in that direction.
