Brendan Donovan and Nolan Arenado: On the Road to Recovery
Two star players for the Colorado Rockies, Brendan Donovan and Nolan Arenado, are making strides towards returning to the field. After being sidelined due to injuries, both players are now on the verge of beginning their rehab assignments.
Donovan, a promising young outfielder, has been out since early May with a strained hamstring. The 23-year-old has been itching to get back in the game and help his team climb up the standings.
Arenado, on the other hand, has been dealing with a shoulder injury that has kept him out of the lineup since late April. The All-Star third baseman has been a key player for the Rockies for years and his absence has been felt on the field.
But now, there is hope for both players to return to action soon. According to sources close to the team, Donovan and Arenado have been making significant progress in their recovery and could begin their rehab assignments in the coming weeks.
This news comes as a relief to Rockies fans who have been eagerly awaiting the return of these two talented players. With the team currently struggling, the addition of Donovan and Arenado could provide a much-needed boost.

Cardinals’ Injured All-Stars Nearing Rehab Stints, According to Manager Oli Marmol
The St. Louis Cardinals may soon see the return of their injured All-Stars, Brendan Donovan and Nolan Arenado, as manager Oli Marmol provided updates on their progress on Monday afternoon. The news comes just in time for the Cardinals’ series opener against the Athletics at Busch Stadium.
According to MLB.com’s John Denton, Donovan, who has been dealing with foot and groin soreness, participated in a full workout on Monday and will continue to monitor his soreness on Tuesday. If all goes well, he could potentially go out on a rehab assignment.
Meanwhile, Arenado, who has been sidelined with a shoulder strain, is set to be examined by team doctors on Thursday after arriving in St. Louis on Wednesday. If cleared, he will join the team for a pregame workout on Thursday and could also go out on a rehab assignment.
The Cardinals are currently 5.5 games back from the New York Mets for the last NL Wild Card spot, with a month of games left to play. However, their chances of making a playoff push have been hindered by the absence of their star infielders.
Donovan was placed on the 10-day injured list on August 15 with a left groin strain, while Arenado has not played in a game since July 30. Despite a less-than-stellar offensive season, Arenado is still a valuable defender at third base and has made eight All-Star appearances in his career. Donovan, on the other hand, earned his first All-Star nod this season and has been a consistent performer for the Cardinals with a .279 batting average, nine home runs, and 45 RBI in 110 games.
Although the Cardinals currently have a slim 0.9% chance of making the playoffs, according to FanGraphs, the return of their All-Stars could give them a fighting chance. With just a month left in the season, St. Louis will need Donovan and Arenado back on the field if they hope to defy the odds and secure a spot in the postseason.
