Cardinals Veteran Garrett Hampson Expected to Be DFA’d to Make Room for Slugger Alec Burleson’s Return
The St. Louis Cardinals are making moves as they prepare for the return of injured slugger Alec Burleson. According to reports from The Athletic’s Katie Woo, the team is expected to designate veteran outfielder Garrett Hampson for assignment to make room for Burleson on the roster.
In his 35 games with the Cardinals this season, Hampson has struggled at the plate, recording only three hits and one RBI in 29 at-bats with a batting average of .103.
