The Detroit Tigers Hit the Road for the Start of the 2026 Season

The roar of the crowd will have to wait for the Detroit Tigers as they kick off their 2026 season with a string of away games. In fact, 10 out of their first 13 games will be played on the road, with their first match-up being against the San Diego Padres on March 26.

This means that the Tigers will have to bring their A-game right from the start, facing tough opponents in unfamiliar territory. But for this seasoned team, it’s just another challenge to conquer.

Their first game against the Padres will be a true test of their skills, as the Padres have proven to be a formidable opponent in recent years. But the Tigers are no strangers to success, having made it to the playoffs multiple times in the past decade.

Fans will have to wait a little longer to see their beloved Tigers in action at home, but the team is determined to make their mark on the road and start the season off strong. So mark your calendars and get ready to cheer on the Tigers as they hit the road for the start of the 2026 season.

The Detroit Tigers Unveil Their 2026 Schedule, Kicking Off with Opening Day Against the San Diego Padres at Petco Park

The Detroit Tigers have officially announced their schedule for the 2026 season, and it’s packed with exciting matchups and road trips. The season will begin on March 26 with Opening Day against the San Diego Padres at Petco Park.

The Tigers will start off with a six-game road trip, facing the Padres for a three-game series and then the Arizona Diamondbacks for another three-game series at Chase Field. But fans won’t have to wait long to see their team play at home, as the home opener at Comerica Park is scheduled for April 3 against the St. Louis Cardinals.

This will be the first time the Tigers have spent Opening Day at Comerica Park since 2022, with the past few years seeing them open the season on the road. But this year, they’ll have the home field advantage as they take on the Cardinals.

After the Cardinals series, the Tigers will hit the road again for a four-game series against the Minnesota Twins at Target Field. In fact, 10 of their first 13 games will be on the road, making for a challenging start to the season.

But the Tigers will have a chance to regroup during the All-Star break, which will take place on July 14 at Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia. The unofficial first half of the season will end with a home series against the Philadelphia Phillies, and the second half will begin on the road against the Los Angeles Angels.

The rest of the season will see the Tigers facing off against a variety of opponents, including the New York Yankees, Boston Red Sox, and Houston Astros. The regular season will wrap up with a series against the Athletics, followed by a final road trip to face the Rangers.
