The Los Angeles Dodgers are Desperate for Relief: Pursuing Ryan Helsley from the St. Louis Cardinals

The Los Angeles Dodgers are in dire need of help in their bullpen as they continue to struggle on the mound. In an effort to turn things around, the team has been actively reaching out to the St. Louis Cardinals in hopes of acquiring closer Ryan Helsley.

The Dodgers’ bullpen has been a major weakness for the team this season, with multiple blown saves and a lack of consistency from their relievers. As they continue to fight for a spot in the playoffs, the team knows that they need to address this issue as soon as possible.

Helsley, a 26-year-old right-hander, has been a reliable closer for the Cardinals this season, with a 2.70 ERA and 10 saves in 33 appearances. His impressive performance has caught the attention of the Dodgers, who see him as a potential solution to their bullpen woes.

The Cardinals, however, are not eager to part ways with Helsley, as he has been a valuable asset to their team. It remains to be seen if the Dodgers will be able to strike a deal with the Cardinals, but they are determined to do whatever it takes to improve their bullpen.

With the trade deadline approaching, the pressure is on for the Dodgers to make a move and solidify their bullpen. As they continue to make calls and negotiate with the Cardinals, fans are eagerly waiting to see if Helsley will be wearing Dodger blue in the near future. Stay tuned for updates on this developing story.

Dodgers Reportedly Eyeing Cardinals’ Top Reliever Amid Bullpen Struggles

The Los Angeles Dodgers may be sitting comfortably atop the National League West standings, but their bullpen has been a major cause for concern. According to FanGraphs, the unit ranks in the bottom 10 of the league with a 4.38 ERA, and has allowed the second-most home runs among all bullpens in baseball.

Despite injuries playing a role in the Dodgers’ bullpen inconsistencies, closer Tanner Scott has been far from reliable this season. With the most blown saves in the league, he has struggled to escape the jams he often finds himself in. Even with a four-year, $72 million contract, the Dodgers are still in need of a lockdown reliever to secure the ninth inning.

According to Bob Nightengale of USA Today, the Dodgers have turned their attention to the St. Louis Cardinals and their closer Ryan Helsley. Like Scott, Helsley has also faced inconsistencies this season, with five blown saves and a career-high 1.424 WHIP. However, he still boasts a solid 3.27 ERA and 36 strikeouts in 36 innings. Adding him to the roster could give manager Dave Roberts two reliable options for the ninth inning, either as a right-hander or as a left-handed specialist.

Unfortunately for the Dodgers, the Cardinals are currently undecided on whether they will trade Helsley before the deadline, according to Nightengale. They also do not plan on offering him a qualifying offer, which could make it more difficult for the Dodgers to acquire him. It may take some convincing from Los Angeles to make a deal happen.
