Shortstop Masyn Winn and centerfielder Victor Scott II have been standouts in their sophomore seasons, showing continuous improvement and potential for greatness. However, it’s been a different story for right fielder Jordan Walker.
Despite facing challenges such as an injured wrist and a balking back, Winn has managed to play in 85 out of the team’s 97 games. And his stats speak for themselves – a .255 batting average, seven home runs, 32 RBIs, and five stolen bases.
Meanwhile, Scott II has also been a force to be reckoned with, showcasing his speed and agility in the outfield. And with a .280 batting average, six home runs, and 25 RBIs, he has solidified his spot as a key player for the Cardinals.
But unfortunately, Walker has not been able to find his footing in the Majors just yet. Despite high expectations, he has struggled to find his rhythm and has yet to prove himself as a valuable asset to the team.

In the world of baseball, the St. Louis Cardinals have a trio of potential Black stars who have been making waves in the 2025 season. Shortstop Masyn Winn and centerfielder Victor Scott II have been showing significant improvement in their sophomore seasons, while right fielder Jordan Walker has been struggling to find his footing in the Majors.
Winn, who battled through injuries to his wrist and back, has managed to play in 85 out of the team’s 97 games. Despite his setbacks, he has maintained a .255 batting average with seven home runs, 32 RBIs, and five stolen bases. While his early-season errors have kept him out of the top 20 defensive shortstops in the National League, he has been a key player in the Cardinals’ rallies and continues to show potential for stardom.
Scott has been a pleasant surprise for the team, with a .235 batting average, four home runs, 32 RBIs, and a team-leading 24 stolen bases. He has also been a standout defensively, ranking sixth among all MLB centerfielders with a .995 fielding percentage and making several impressive catches. On the other hand, Walker has been struggling to find his place in the Majors. After undergoing an appendectomy, he is currently rehabbing at Double A Springfield. In the 55 games he played before his surgery, he only managed a .210 batting average with three home runs and 27 RBIs. His search for power has been ongoing, and he has struck out 63 times in just 176 at-bats. This has led to speculation that the Cardinals may consider including him in a potential trade deal to sweeten the package.
As the season reaches its halfway point, it is clear that Winn and Scott II have been shining for the Cardinals, while Walker has yet to prove himself at the Major League level.
