Braves Comeback to Defeat Cardinals 7-6 with Homers from Murphy, Acuña Jr., and Ozuna

In a thrilling game on Saturday, the Atlanta Braves showed their resilience by rallying against the St. Louis Cardinals’ top relievers to secure a 7-6 victory. The Braves’ power hitters, Sean Murphy, Ronald Acuña Jr., and Marcell Ozuna, all hit home runs to contribute to the team’s win.

But it was Nacho Alvarez Jr., filling in for the injured third baseman Austin Riley, who proved to be the hero of the game. Alvarez Jr. stepped up to the plate and delivered two crucial singles, ultimately scoring the winning run in the ninth inning on Jurickson Profar’s groundout against Cardinals’ closer Ryan Helsley (3-1).

The Braves’ comeback was a testament to their determination and never-give-up attitude. Despite facing tough competition from the Cardinals, they refused to back down and fought until the very end.

With this win, the Braves continue to solidify their position as a top team in the league. And with players like Murphy, Acuña Jr., and Ozuna leading the way, there’s no telling how far they can go this season.

Braves Rally to Beat Cardinals 7-6 with Late Home Runs

ST. LOUIS (AP) – In a thrilling game on Saturday, the Atlanta Braves came back from behind to defeat the St. Louis Cardinals 7-6. Sean Murphy, Ronald Acuña Jr., and Marcell Ozuna all hit home runs to secure the win for the Braves.

Nacho Alvarez Jr., filling in for injured third baseman Austin Riley, played a crucial role in the victory with two singles and scoring the winning run on Jurickson Profar’s ninth-inning groundout against Cardinals’ closer Ryan Helsley (3-1).

Murphy, who hit the two longest home runs of the season at Busch Stadium on Friday night, continued his impressive performance with a three-run shot in the eighth inning. This was Murphy’s 16th home run of the season and the first allowed by reliever Phil Maton in 37 appearances.

The Cardinals tied the game in the eighth when pinch-runner Garrett Hampson scored on a wild pitch by Daysbel Hernández (4-1). However, the Braves were able to regain the lead in the ninth inning with an RBI single from Brendan Donovan.

With Raisel Iglesias pitching a perfect ninth for his 11th save, the Braves secured the win and continued their strong performance this season.

Yohel Pozo and Nolan Gorman also hit home runs for the Cardinals, but it was not enough to overcome the Braves’ late surge. St. Louis had been struggling offensively in their previous games, but they were able to break through with three runs against Atlanta’s opener Aaron Bummer in the second inning.

Acuña and Ozuna had early home runs for the Braves, with Acuña hitting a 379-foot drive in the first inning and Ozuna hitting a 422-foot solo shot in the second. Alvarez also contributed to the Braves’ early lead with a single for his first big-league RBI in nine career games.
