Manny Machado Frustrated After Being Hit by Pitch Twice in Saturday’s Game

In a heated game on Saturday, star player Manny Machado made his frustration known after being hit by a pitch not once, but twice. The San Diego Padres were facing off against the Arizona Diamondbacks when Machado was struck by a pitch from Diamondbacks pitcher, Matt Peacock, in the fourth inning. This was followed by another hit in the sixth inning, this time from Diamondbacks reliever, Stefan Crichton.

Machado, who is known for his fiery personality on the field, immediately showed his displeasure by throwing his bat and helmet to the ground and exchanging words with Peacock. The incident caused both benches to clear, but no further altercations occurred.

This is not the first time Machado has been hit by a pitch this season. In fact, he has been hit a total of six times, tying him for the most in the league. However, it was the back-to-back hits in Saturday’s game that seemed to push Machado over the edge.

After the game, Machado spoke to reporters about the incident, stating, “It’s frustrating. I’m just trying to go out there and play the game and help my team win. I don’t know what their intentions are, but it’s just frustrating to get hit twice in one game.”

The Padres ended up losing the game 7-0, adding

Tensions Boil Over Again in Padres vs. Cardinals Matchup

The heated rivalry between the San Diego Padres and the St. Louis Cardinals reached a boiling point once again last night. In a tense game that saw the benches clear for the second consecutive night, tensions rose after Padres’ star Manny Machado was hit by a pitch in the 9th inning by Cardinals’ rookie Andre Granillo. This was the second time Machado was hit in the game, adding fuel to the fire.

Cardinals Bench Coach Ejected After Confrontation with Machado

The situation quickly escalated when Cardinals’ bench coach Jon Jay directed comments towards Machado on the field, resulting in his prompt ejection from the game. This came as a surprise, as Machado and Jay had previously been friends due to their shared Miami ties. However, Machado made it clear that their friendship is now over.

Machado Speaks Out on Incident

When asked about the confrontation, Machado did not hold back. “No. Absolutely not,” he said, according to reports from Dennis Lin and Katie Woo of The Athletic. He also suggested that Jay’s comments after the pitch were what escalated the situation. “I mean, poor kid. I know he probably doesn’t want to do that in that situation,” Machado said. “Obviously, you see him, what he does. He just kind of feels bad. You’re just pissed off, you know? It is what it is. I mean, there was nothing to it. But then you got somebody else coming up and yapping their mouth. That’s when s— starts getting real.”

The Rivalry Continues

This is not the end of the Padres and Cardinals facing off, as they are scheduled to play each other four more times in the next seven days. The next matchup will be a three-game series in San Diego starting late next week. With tensions already high, it will be interesting to see how these two teams handle their next meeting.
