Hawaii baseball coach Rich Hill has a tough task ahead as he prepares for the upcoming season. Three of his junior players have been selected in the Major League Baseball draft and have decided to forgo their remaining college years to pursue a professional career.
Outfielder Matthew Miura, a standout player from Maryknoll High School, was chosen as the 180th overall pick by the St. Louis Cardinals. This comes right after Michigan signee and All-State player, who also decided to leave college and join the draft.
While it’s a great accomplishment for these players to be selected in the draft, it leaves a void in the Hawaii baseball team. Coach Hill will have to work hard to fill these holes and find new talent to maintain the team’s success.
