MLB Teams Make Bold Trade Deadline Prediction for St. Louis Cardinals’ Ryan Helsley

In a surprising turn of events, multiple MLB teams have made a bold prediction for the St. Louis Cardinals’ Ryan Helsley ahead of the trade deadline. The young pitcher has caught the attention of several teams with his impressive performance on the mound, leading to speculation that he may be on the move.

According to sources close to the situation, the Cardinals have received numerous inquiries about Helsley’s availability. Many teams see him as a valuable asset to bolster their pitching rotation and are willing to make a bold move to acquire him.

Helsley, who has a 2.89 ERA and 1.07 WHIP in 28 appearances this season, has proven himself to be a reliable and consistent pitcher for the Cardinals. His impressive fastball and slider have made him a formidable opponent on the mound, and it’s no surprise that other teams are taking notice.

While the Cardinals have not made any official statements about Helsley’s potential trade, it’s clear that they have a valuable asset in their hands. With the trade deadline quickly approaching, it will be interesting to see if they decide to make a bold move and part ways with the talented pitcher.

In the meantime, Helsley remains focused on his performance and helping the Cardinals secure a spot in the playoffs. But with the trade rumors swirling, it’s hard to ignore the possibility of

MLB Trade Deadline: Cardinals’ Bullpen in the Spotlight

With the MLB trade deadline just days away, all eyes are on the St. Louis Cardinals and their bullpen. As the team looks to sell, there are three potential trade pieces in their bullpen, with one recently receiving a firm prediction from MLB teams.

According to Bob Nightengale of USA Today, Cardinals closer Ryan Helsley is one of three top relievers who are predicted to be on the move at the upcoming trade deadline. Nightengale writes, “Teams believe that the best three relievers traded at the deadline will be Jhoan Duran of the Minnesota Twins, David Bednar of the Pittsburgh Pirates, and Ryan Helsley of the St. Louis Cardinals.”

All three relievers have the potential to bring in a solid return, but they each have different levels of team control. Duran, who has the longest contract, is expected to bring in the best return. Bednar is under team control until 2026, while Helsley is on an expiring deal.

While Helsley’s rental status may not bring in the best package, the Cardinals could still receive solid prospects in return for the two-time All-Star closer.

At 31 years old and in his seventh year in the big leagues, Helsley has been a reliable presence in the Cardinals’ bullpen this season. He boasts a 3.00 ERA in 36 appearances with 21 saves, 41 strikeouts, and 14 walks in 36 innings pitched. While his 139 ERA+ is the lowest it’s been since 2022, it’s still a strong number that has caught the attention of many teams.

With Nightingale’s report and Helsley’s own statement to Katie Woo of The Athletic that he has a 90 percent chance of being traded, it seems highly likely that the longest tenured Cardinal will be on his way out by the end of the month.

As MLB teams expect Helsley to be among the top relievers dealt at the deadline, the Cardinals’ bullpen remains in the spotlight. Stay tuned for more updates on potential trades and moves as the deadline approaches.
