Cardinals Struggle to Keep Athletics Grounded in Home Run-Filled Game

In a high-scoring game at Busch Stadium on Monday, the St. Louis Cardinals faced off against the Oakland Athletics. Despite their recent struggles with limiting home runs, Cardinals starter Sonny Gray couldn’t keep the Athletics grounded as they pushed across seven runs against him.

Through six-plus innings, Gray gave up three homers and allowed a total of 10 hits. The right-hander was unable to contain the powerful offense of the Athletics, leading to his departure with no outs in the seventh inning after walking a batter.
