Ben Rice Hits Career High Seven RBIs in Yankees’ 12-8 Victory over Cardinals

In a thrilling Saturday night game, the New York Yankees came out on top with a 12-8 win over the St. Louis Cardinals. The Yankees’ offense was on fire, led by Ben Rice who not only hit a homer but also tied his career high with seven RBIs. This impressive performance helped the Yankees overcome a shaky start by pitcher Max Fried (13-5).

But Rice wasn’t the only one making an impact on the field. Aaron Judge, who had been struggling since the All-Star break, also hit a home run and had his first multi-hit game. And Trent Grisham, who singled four times and scored four runs, proved to be a valuable asset for the Yankees.

The game started off rough for the Yankees, with Fried giving up three runs in the first inning. But the team didn’t let that slow them down. They quickly bounced back, with McMahon hitting his first homer since being acquired by the Yankees.

The Yankees’ strong offense and determination to win ultimately led them to victory over the Cardinals. With this win, the Yankees continue to solidify their spot as one of the top teams in the league. And with players like Rice, Judge, and Grisham leading the way, the Yankees are sure to have many more exciting games ahead.

New York Yankees Dominate St. Louis Cardinals with 12-8 Victory

Ben Rice Homers and Ties Career High with 7 RBIs in Yankees’ Win Against Cardinals

The New York Yankees showed their dominance on Saturday night as they defeated the St. Louis Cardinals 12-8. Ben Rice led the charge with a homerun and seven RBIs, tying his career high. Aaron Judge also contributed with a homerun and his first multi-hit game since the All-Star break.

Trent Grisham had a strong performance with four singles and four runs scored, while Ryan McMahon hit his first homerun since joining the Yankees. Despite a shaky start by Max Fried, the Yankees were able to overcome the Cardinals’ offense.

Fried reached a milestone with his 1,000th career strikeout, but ultimately gave up seven runs on eight hits in five-plus innings. The Cardinals’ Masyn Winn and Nolan Gorman each hit a homerun off Fried, marking the third time this season he has given up multiple homeruns in a game.

Sonny Gray took the loss for the Cardinals, allowing six runs on nine hits in five innings. The Cardinals were also missing key players such as Brendan Donovan and Willson Contreras, while the Yankees were without Giancarlo Stanton and Cody Bellinger.

Rice was the standout player for the Yankees, finishing just a triple short of hitting for the cycle. He had three of the team’s 15 hits and matched his RBI total from a game in 2024 where he hit three homeruns against the Boston Red Sox.

The key moment of the game came in the sixth inning when Rice hit a three-run double off reliever Kyle Leahy, extending the Yankees’ lead to 9-5. This was a significant game for Rice, as he hadn’t matched his RBI total from a single game since 2024.

The Yankees will look to complete the sweep on Sunday with RHP Will Warren on the mound, while the Cardinals will send RHP Miles Mikolas to try and avoid the sweep. This was a dominant performance by the Yankees, showing their strength and depth as a team.
