Ben Rice Hits Career High Seven RBIs in Yankees’ 12-8 Victory over Cardinals

The Yankees’ offense was on fire, led by Ben Rice who not only hit a homer but also tied his career high with seven RBIs. This impressive performance helped the Yankees overcome a shaky start by pitcher Max Fried (13-5).
But Rice wasn’t the only one making an impact on the field. Aaron Judge, who had been struggling since the All-Star break, also hit a home run and had his first multi-hit game. And Trent Grisham, who singled four times and scored four runs, proved to be a valuable asset for the Yankees.

The Yankees’ strong offense and determination to win ultimately led them to victory over the Cardinals. With this win, the Yankees continue to solidify their spot as one of the top teams in the league. And with players like Rice, Judge, and Grisham leading the way, the Yankees are sure to have many more exciting games ahead. Sports

Ben Rice’s Career Night Leads Yankees to Victory Over Cardinals
On Saturday night, the New York Yankees defeated the St. Louis Cardinals 12-8, thanks to a stellar performance by Ben Rice. The Yankees’ designated hitter homered and tied a career high with seven RBIs, while Aaron Judge also contributed with a home run and his first multi-hit game since the All-Star break.
The Yankees’ offense was firing on all cylinders, with Trent Grisham scoring four runs and Ryan McMahon hitting his first homer since being acquired by the team. Despite a shaky start by pitcher Max Fried, who gave up multiple home runs for the third time this season, the Yankees were able to secure the win.
Fried did reach a milestone in the game, recording his 1,000th career strikeout, but ultimately exited after giving up seven runs on eight hits in five-plus innings. The Cardinals’ Masyn Winn and Nolan Gorman also hit home runs off Fried, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the Yankees’ strong offensive performance.
The Cardinals’ Sonny Gray struggled on the mound, allowing six runs on nine hits in five innings. This loss marks the team’s fourth in a row.
Rice was the star of the game for the Yankees, finishing just a triple short of hitting for the cycle and recording three of the team’s 15 hits. In a matchup of aces, the Yankees were able to come out on top despite missing key players like Giancarlo Stanton and Cody Bellinger.
The key moment of the game came in the fourth inning when Rice hit a three-run homer off Gray to give the Yankees the lead. He then added a three-run double in the sixth off reliever Kyle Leahy to extend the lead to 9-5.
Rice’s performance was also historic, as he matched his career-high seven RBIs from July 6, 2024, when he hit three home runs in a game against the Boston Red Sox.
The Yankees will look to complete the sweep on Sunday when they send RHP Will Warren to the mound against St. Louis’ RHP Miles Mikolas. With this win, the Yankees improve to 12-8 on the season and continue to make a push for the playoffs.
