Cardinals Fall to Diamondbacks After Rough Start from Mikolas

PHOENIX — The St. Louis Cardinals were unable to overcome a rocky start from pitcher Miles Mikolas in their final game of a three-game series against the Arizona Diamondbacks on Sunday at Chase Field.

After struggling in their first two games of the series, the Cardinals were hoping for a strong performance from Mikolas to turn things around. However, the right-hander got off to a troubling start, allowing four runs in the first inning.

The Diamondbacks wasted no time getting on the board, with Eugenio Suarez hitting a three-run home run with just one out in the first. Mikolas was unable to recover from the early deficit, and the Cardinals were unable to claw their way back into the game.

Despite a valiant effort from the Cardinals’ offense, including a solo home run from Paul Goldschmidt in the fourth inning, they were unable to overcome the early deficit and ultimately fell to the Diamondbacks by a final score of 4-2.

This loss marks the end of a tough series for the Cardinals, who will now head back home to regroup and prepare for their next matchup. The Diamondbacks, on the other hand, will look to build on their strong performance and continue their winning streak.

Cardinals Fall to Diamondbacks After Rough Start from Mikolas

PHOENIX — The St. Louis Cardinals were unable to overcome a rocky start from pitcher Miles Mikolas in their third game against the Arizona Diamondbacks at Chase Field on Sunday.

After struggling in their first two games of the series, the Cardinals were hoping for a strong performance from Mikolas to turn things around. However, the right-hander gave up four runs in the first inning, including a three-run home run from Eugenio Suarez.

The early deficit proved to be too much for the Cardinals to overcome, as they fell to the Diamondbacks by a final score of 6-3.

Mikolas, who has been a reliable starter for the Cardinals this season, struggled to find his rhythm in the first inning. He gave up three hits and a walk, leading to the four runs scored by the Diamondbacks.

Despite settling down in the following innings, Mikolas’ rough start put the Cardinals in a tough position. They were able to score three runs in the fifth inning, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the early deficit.

The loss drops the Cardinals to a record of 22-17, while the Diamondbacks improve to 20-20. The Cardinals will look to bounce back in their next series against the San Diego Padres.

This game serves as a reminder that every pitch counts in baseball, and one bad inning can make all the difference. The Cardinals will need to regroup and come back stronger in their next game to avoid another costly start.
