The Cardinals’ Hope for Landing One of Four Players
The St. Louis Cardinals are facing a crucial decision as they enter the upcoming draft. With only four players on their radar, they will have to make a strategic move in order to secure one of them. This could potentially make or break their future success.
St. Louis Cardinals in Prime Position for 2025 MLB Draft with Top Prospects Available
As the 2025 MLB draft approaches, the St. Louis Cardinals have their sights set on top prospects Jamie Arnold, Ethan Holliday, Kade Anderson, and Liam Doyle. With these players still on the board, the Cardinals are in an excellent position to make the right decision for their team.
However, there is a possibility that the four teams ahead of them could select all four of these players. But, there are some concerns surrounding Holliday’s draft stock and where Arnold may end up.
According to the latest mock draft from The Sporting Tribune, the Cardinals are projected to select Arnold from Florida State. This would be a dream scenario for the Cardinals, despite the buzz surrounding left-handed players like Anderson and Doyle.
While the Cardinals would love to have a chance at Anderson or Holliday, it’s unlikely they will be able to snag them with Seattle and Colorado being potential landing spots for these players.
The mock draft also mentions that Arnold and Doyle may not have many suitors until the back end of the top 10 if they fall beyond the top five. This could give the Cardinals an advantage in securing one of these top prospects.
During the 2025 college baseball season, Arnold proved to be one of the best pitchers in the nation. He had an impressive 2.98 ERA and struck out 119 batters in just 84.2 innings for the Seminoles. Throughout his college career, he has struck out a total of 327 hitters, showcasing his dominant strikeout abilities.
