Amsinger: “Ohtani is a Phenomenon!”

In a recent interview, MLB Network host Greg Amsinger couldn’t contain his excitement when talking about Los Angeles Angels’ two-way star Shohei Ohtani. Amsinger, known for his bold opinions and passionate commentary, sang Ohtani’s praises, calling him a “phenomenon” in the world of baseball.

Amsinger, who has been following Ohtani’s career closely, was blown away by the 26-year-old’s performance this season. Ohtani has been dominating on both the mound and at the plate, making him a rare and valuable asset to his team.

“Ohtani is a once-in-a-generation player,” Amsinger exclaimed. “He’s not just a great pitcher or a great hitter, he’s both. And he’s excelling at both at the highest level.”

Greg Amsinger Praises Dodgers’ Shohei Ohtani: “We Just Watched a Team Win a Game That They Lost”

The Los Angeles Dodgers may have lost Wednesday’s game 5-3 and dropped the series to the St. Louis Cardinals, but according to MLB Network’s Greg Amsinger, the team still came out on top thanks to the impressive performance of Shohei Ohtani.

“We just watched a team win a game that they lost,” Amsinger said. “The Los Angeles Dodgers won this game, but the Cardinals won at 5 to 3 by the score.”

Despite the Dodgers’ loss, Amsinger believes that Ohtani’s performance was the real highlight of the game. “The key was to see Shohei Otani find that A stuff again,” he said. “We knew we were gonna see more length in the start than we saw all year. You’d gone three innings a couple of times. We were expecting four innings. We didn’t just see four innings. We saw a Game 1 starter in terms of his stuff.”

On Wednesday, Ohtani struck out eight over four innings and hit a two-run homer for his 1,000th MLB hit. This season, he has fanned 25 batters in 19 innings (2.37 ERA) and has 39 homers, a .606 slugging percentage and has scored 106 runs.

Amsinger was not the only one singing Ohtani’s praises. Two-time All-Star Harold Reynolds also had high praise for the two-way player, calling him “the most talented human that’s ever played the game.”

“We’re seeing something we’ll never ever see again,” Reynolds said. “I’m sorry. There may be other guys that come along, but they’re not gonna do this. This is the greatest player dominating at a time.”

“We were watching Michael Jordan in the Jordan era,” he added. “There’s so many great players in baseball. There were so many great basketball players when Michael Jordan played. But there was one guy you talked about win, lose, or draw.”
