In a thrilling game on Wednesday night, former Cardinals pitcher Sandy Alcantara dominated on the mound, leading the Miami Marlins to a 6-2 win over St. Louis. The Marlins were able to avoid a three game sweep by the Redbirds thanks to Alcantara’s impressive performance.

Alcantara pitched seven strong innings, striking out nine Cardinals and earning his 7th win of the season. The only Cardinal to get a big hit off of Alcantara was Willson Contreras, who hit his 17th home run of the season.

Unfortunately for the Cardinals, their pitcher Andre Pallante had a rough outing, allowing five runs in just five and a third innings pitched. This loss brings his season record to 6-11.

Despite the loss, the Cardinals remain a strong team and will surely bounce back from this defeat. But for now, the Miami Marlins can celebrate their victory and the impressive performance of their former Cardinals pitcher.
