The St. Louis Cardinals Aim for Series Sweep in Miami

The St. Louis Cardinals are wrapping up their series in Miami Wednesday night, and they have their sights set on a series sweep. In our Cardinals Nation update, we have some exciting news about former Springfield Cardinal Nathan Church.

Church, who started the 2025 season in Low A Palm Beach as he recovered from an injury, will be in centerfield for St. Louis. He made his big league debut on Tuesday night and picked up his first RBI when he laid down a drag bunt and drove in Thomas Saggese.

After a couple of months in Springfield, Church was promoted to Memphis in early June. And just a few weeks later, on August 17th, he received the call to join the St. Louis Cardinals. The 25-year-old from Newport Beach, California is still searching for his first big league hit, but he has already been on base three times and scored two runs in his first few games as a Cardinal.

It’s worth noting that Church attended El Toro High School in California, the same high school that has produced teammate Nolan Arenado and Pirates pitcher Paul Skenes.
