According to Tankathon, San Diego has the 4th-easiest strength of schedule remaining in the second half of the year. They will start off with a three-game series against the Nationals (2-1 record), followed by three games against the Marlins (1-2 record), and then three more road games in St. Louis as part of a nine-game East Coast road trip.

But the real opportunity for the Padres comes in the final month of the season. Out of their final 28 games, 13 will be against the Orioles, White Sox, and Rockies. This gives them a great chance to gain ground and make a run for the playoffs.

I’m placing my bets on the Padres to make it to the postseason as a second-half futures bet. But remember to bet responsibly and seek help if you or someone you know has a gambling problem. Call the National Gambling Helpline for assistance.
