In a dominant performance, the Colorado Rockies defeated the St. Louis Cardinals 8-4 on Tuesday night. Led by Ryan McMahon’s three-run home run and a strong pitching performance by Bradley Blalock, the Rockies secured the win at Coors Field.

Blalock (1-2) earned the win, allowing only two runs in 5 1/3 innings pitched. He gave up eight hits, a walk, and a hit-by-pitch, but was able to keep the Cardinals’ offense at bay.

The Rockies wasted no time getting on the board, with Mickey Moniak hitting a solo home run off Cardinals starter Erick Fedde (3-10) in the first inning. In the second, Adael Amador added to the lead with a two-run double, and McMahon’s three-run homer in the third gave the Rockies a commanding 6-0 lead.

Fedde struggled on the mound, giving up six runs on seven hits in just three innings pitched. The Cardinals were able to score two runs in the fourth, thanks to RBIs from Nolan Arenado and Masyn Winn, but it wasn’t enough to catch up to the Rockies’ lead.

The Rockies continued to add to their lead in the fifth, with Brendan Donovan’s double driving in two more runs. The Cardinals’ bullpen was able to hold off the Rockies for the rest of the game, but the damage had already been done.

The win improves the Rockies’ record to 55-40, while the Cardinals fall to 47-48. The two teams will face off again tomorrow night at Coors Field.

Rockies Dominate Cardinals with 8-4 Victory Behind McMahon’s Three-Run Homer

DENVER – In a thrilling matchup between the Colorado Rockies and the St. Louis Cardinals, Ryan McMahon’s three-run home run and Bradley Blalock’s solid pitching performance led the Rockies to an 8-4 win on Tuesday night.

Blalock (1-2) earned the win for the Rockies, allowing only two runs in 5 1/3 innings pitched. He gave up eight hits, a walk, and a hit-by-pitch, but managed to keep the Cardinals’ offense at bay.

The Rockies got off to a strong start with Mickey Moniak hitting a solo home run off Cardinals starter Erick Fedde (3-10) in the first inning. Adael Amador then added to the lead with a two-run double in the second, and McMahon’s homer in the third gave the Rockies a commanding 6-0 lead.

Fedde struggled on the mound, giving up six runs on seven hits in just three innings pitched.

The Cardinals tried to mount a comeback with Nolan Arenado and Masyn Winn each driving in a run in the fourth inning. But the Rockies responded with another run in the seventh, as Brendan Donovan’s double brought in Victor Scott II.

In the eighth inning, Jordan Walker hit a two-out double and scored on a pinch-hit double by Yohel Pozo, bringing the score to 7-4. However, the Rockies’ lead was too much for the Cardinals to overcome.

The Cardinals will look to bounce back in the final game of the series on Wednesday, with Andre Pallante (5-6, 4.71 ERA) scheduled to pitch. The Rockies have yet to announce their starting pitcher.
