The Rangers’ Bullpen Needs Help

The Texas Rangers are in desperate need of some relief in their bullpen. After a string of disappointing performances, it’s clear that the team’s pitching staff is struggling to hold onto leads and close out games. With the trade deadline quickly approaching, the Rangers must make a move to bolster their bullpen if they want to stay competitive in the playoff race.

In recent weeks, the Rangers’ bullpen has been plagued by blown saves and inconsistent performances. This has put a strain on the team’s starting pitchers, who have been forced to pitch deeper into games and carry a heavier workload. As a result, the Rangers have seen their once-promising record slip and their chances of making the playoffs diminish.

One of the main issues for the Rangers’ bullpen has been a lack of reliable arms. While they have a few solid relievers, they lack depth and consistency. This has led to overuse of certain pitchers and a lack of trust in others. As a result, the bullpen has struggled to hold onto leads and close out games, putting added pressure on the rest of the team.

The Texas Rangers are on fire in July, inching closer to a Wild Card spot and closing the gap on the Houston Astros in the AL West. With the trade deadline approaching, the Rangers are looking to bolster their roster, particularly in the bullpen.

According to Bleacher Report’s Joel Reuter, the Rangers are eyeing a blockbuster deal with the St. Louis Cardinals to acquire Ryan Helsley and Phil Maton. Both relievers have been performing well for the Cardinals this season, but the team is reportedly open to trading them for the right price.

Despite having one of the best bullpens in baseball with a 3.25 ERA, the Rangers have struggled with converting save opportunities. Adding Helsley and Maton to their late-inning rotation would give them a formidable group alongside Robert Garcia, Shawn Armstrong, and Hoby Milner.

While the Cardinals have set a high asking price for their top relievers, the Rangers have a strong farm system and could potentially part with some top prospects to secure the deal. As the Rangers continue to heat up and the Cardinals cool down, it will be interesting to see if the two teams can come to an agreement.
